Final Conference of the EGP-Guizhou Project
On Thursday 12th March 2015, the Final Conference of the EGP-Guizhou project was successfully held in the Howard Johnson Plaza, in Guiyang, Guizhou Province. For the Final Conference, local stakeholders from all target groups were invited as well as representatives from MEP and the EC. The aim with the Final Conference was to highlight the project’s outcomes and results as the project is reaching its end but also to discuss the next steps on developing environmental justice in Guizhou and China.

European study tour, Sweden, 26-29 January
From Monday 26th to Thursday 29th of January 2015, a Europeanstudy tour took place in the cities of Stockholm, Falun and Borlänge in Sweden, inviting 9 participants from China as part of the EGP-Guizhou Project.

Sub-forum on Promoting the Environmental Governance of China - Best Practice Sharing from China (Guizhou) and Europe, Beijing, 11 January 2015
On Sunday 11th January 2015, a sub-forum was successfully held by the EGP-Guizhou project in connection to the “2014 All-China Environmental Non-Government Organizations Sustainable Development Annual Forum”. The event took place in the Yifu Conference Centre, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, inviting environmental NGO’s from all over China as well as other stakeholder involved in NGO affairs.

Multi-stakeholder conference, Guiyang, 16 December 2014
On Tuesday 16th of December 2014, a one day multi-stakeholder conference was successfully held by the EGP-Guizhou project. The workshop took place in Shiguang Guizhou Hotel in Qingzhen City, Guizhou Province, inviting local multi-stakeholders including governmental officials from the Qingzhen municipal government, Environmental Protection Bureaus and the local ecological civilization center representatives from Guizhou companies, villagers, and NGOs, as well as representatives from the local TV center. Around 30 participants attended the conference.

Environmental Damage Assessment (EDA) Case Study – Part 2, Guiyang, 3 December 2014
With a goal of improving the capacity of relevant professionals and organizations to conduct environmental damage and risk assessment, e.g. the newly established Guizhou Environmental Risk and Pollution Damage Appraisal Centre (GERPDAC), the EGP-Guizhou project successfully organized the second part of the Case Study on Environmental Damage Assessment (EDA) on December 3rd 2014 in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province.

EGP-Guizhou awareness-raising seminars, in Hongfenghu Town and Baihuahu Town, Guiyang, 21 November 2013
On Thursday 21stof November, two awareness-raising seminars on Environmental Protection and Environmental Justice were successfully carried out by the EGP-Guizhou project. The events took place in Hongfenghu Town (morning) and Baihuahu Town (afternoon) of Qingzhen city, Guiyang.The two awareness-raising seminars aimed at increasing the awareness of local governmental officials but also welcoming local villagers to participate in order to further raise awareness and create a dialogue on environmental justice issues. Each awareness-raising seminar lasted a half day and both seminars took place during the same day but on two different locations inviting different participants. Both events were organized in the same way using the same agenda.

European high-level policy twinning tour, Sweden 23-26 September 2013
From Monday 23rd to Thursday 26th of September, a European high-level policy twinning tour was successfully carried out by the EGP-Guizhou project. The tour took place in Stockholm and Uppsala, Sweden, inviting 8 participants from China as part of the EGP-Guizhou Project but also welcoming 5 participants from the Chinese project “Study on Compensation Legal System for Heavy Metal Pollution Damages”. The aim of the European twinning tour was to discuss the issue of access to environmental justice together with European stakeholders, get insight to the European experiences on environmental justice and compare and discuss the different legal systems.

The Environmental Negotiation Technique Seminar was held on August 30th. The seminar focused on how governmental officials, judicial officials, lawyers and related social organizations working with environmental protection, when encountering environmental disputes, can take effective methods and measures to mitigate conflicts and promote the communication between stakeholders in order to protect public environmental rights and interests.

A course in Basic Environmental Knowledge was held on August 29th, focusing on persons without prior environmental education.
